Listening

Listening is the one thing we think we are so capable of doing, and yet we know the times we’ve nodded our heads without understanding what the other person just said.

It’s as if our responses have been preset in our minds, that it appears like we’ve been listening intently and have been following the conversation. And yet, we know that hours after we can no longer remember what was in that conversation.

We demand to be listened to, and yet we also fail to listen to people.
