Waiting

All these people were waiting for their loved ones on the early morning of December 24 at NAIA terminal 3, as I have also waited for the arrival of my brother from Singapore. Together with my mom and my eldest brother, we stood there for one hour from the time it was announced that his plane already arrived. It took a while. Out of boredom, my brother and I would do all sorts of craziness such as practice our waving and saying hi when Kuya Herbert arrives. We’d wave our hands in the air to strangers as if welcoming them, and as if we were their relatives. Finally, our own balikbayan came. He looked a little different, but still had the same familiar smile that has warmed our hearts since.

Welcome home, Kuya. 🙂 Thank you for the wonderful gift of joy to the family.
